The logo sums up the course of the letter A, as Ada Yardeni exposes in her book A-dventure-Z, from the original pictogram : the head of an ox. The head drawn on our logo was found on a rock face in Bir en-Naseb, in Sinai. It is a Canaanite engraving which dates back to the 18th century BC. The book A-dventure-Z inspired to us this shortcut in history to create the logo for the association. But it isn't merely epigraphic. The oval represents the Mediterranean world where writing was born and the place where people live and write with alphabets apparently unrelated. We adopted this symbol in order to stress the search for the origins, which may lead to better understanding between the peoples having inherited a writing tool so simple and pratical : the alphabet. |
